My Grandfather was Tiny Holden (F.M Holden). “Tiny” was a very well known and respected owner, breeder, trainer of some of the finest horses to ever run in Canada. We wanted to honor him and one of his filly’s. Whisper Whim was one of the best two-year-olds in the country and she even graced the front cover of the Canadian Horseman Magazine back in 1963.
“Winny” ran only 7 races but won every one of them… she didn’t know how to lose! Her photos are on the wall along with a winning plate. The story goes that Grandpa gave her to my Grandma and she decided that Whisper should retire! We will never know what she could have done in the rest of her career, but she did live a long happy life on the family property.
My grandparents purchased 800 acres back in July 1926 and some of us are lucky to still be here and call it home. The land you will enjoy when staying with us has a long and storied history and now we are overjoyed to share it with you.
